Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875–1911) is one of Europe’s earliest pioneers of abstract and symbolic art — a composer and painter whose work blends music, mythology, and spirituality into visionary imagery. His art is internationally recognised for its meditative qualities and emotional depth, making it uniquely suited for immersive VR experiences. Inspired by these universal themes, we have transformed his paintings into contemporary immersive journeys that help viewers slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience a moment of inner calm — regardless of cultural background or prior knowledge of the artist.

I was privileged to watch this project several times over the course of years — the very first time in Venice in 2018, at the Biennale, where I studied to be a VR director and met Vitalijus, its producer.
I still recall being absolutely blown away — even by Venice’s high standards, Trail of Angels was breathtaking. Now that the remastered version is out, I’m happy that I can share it with friends and acquaintances all over the world.
It remains one of the best VR experiences out there — a belief I still hold after all these years. Don’t miss it, it’s special.

Magnificent visual experience of about 20 minutes. You have the feeling of being inside beautiful artistic paintings with dreamlike visions and wonderful music.
Unlike other similar experiences I have watched, the artist really knows how to take advantage of VR. The scenarios are huge, and what happens in those visions is quite spectacular.
You can watch it sitting down, but it is advisable to do it standing up because things happen in all directions, including on your back. You have to be guided by the 3D sound to know where you have to look.
Highly recommended if you like this kind of visual experiences in VR, which there are very few on Steam.

当在草地上憩息的天使们乘船来到汪洋之上的孤岛，再见天边的云彩幻作上帝的洗礼，又或是朝圣的生灵。一如转瞬即逝的霞光，忽然闪现的绚烂雷霆，你的旅程如同侵袭而下的暴雨一去不返。
登上雾霭笼罩的圣山，漫漫朝圣之路，云开月明时，你也并非孤身一人。最终化作身负双翼的天使，从星球上飞起，低头望去，之间众多的星球埋没于云层漩涡之下，眼前的光芒指引你见到了一起的初始，与一切的终结。
这是纯粹的艺术，以至于我这个不怎么懂艺术的家伙不能完全理解作者想要告诉我们的思想。
但是，这纯粹浪漫主义的场景却也能给我以触动。
意识流的作品不是让人去说出它想表达什么，而是以纯粹的描写将读者浸入作者创作的幻境，用感受，交流感受。
MK 的原作，以中世纪炼金术的观点描绘了世界的构成，也假设存在多个世界，将宇宙的伟大寄托在灵魂的旅途之中，将旅途，作为人生的成长，而这一路，你也收获许多。

I have never seen anything like it. There are many modern short VR films lasting a few minutes at most with a lot of special effects, but I have not seen anything so artistic, this film is a real refreshment for the soul. It has great artistic power and will probably be liked by a more sophisticated and older audience.

第一次踏入第九艺术的奇妙世界，那感觉就像推开了一扇通往梦幻国度的大门。

最初，展现在眼前的是一幅如诗如画的场景，阳光如同金色的丝线，温柔地洒在每一朵娇艳欲滴的花朵上，花瓣上还挂着晶莹的露珠，在阳光的照耀下闪烁着璀璨的光芒，仿佛是大自然精心雕琢的宝石。微风轻拂，花朵轻轻摇曳，散发出阵阵醉人的芬芳，弥漫在整个空气中。
然而，这美好的景象如同梦幻泡影一般转瞬即逝。天气悄然发生了变化，原本晴朗的天空渐渐被乌云所笼罩，阳光被一点点吞噬，只留下一片灰暗。花朵在寒风中瑟瑟发抖，花瓣纷纷飘落，如同一只只断了线的风筝，无力地坠落在地上，仿佛在诉说着生命的无常。
紧接着，我的身体仿佛失去了重量，轻飘飘地飘到了一艘古老的木船上。这艘船在波涛汹涌的水面上颠簸起伏，发出嘎吱嘎吱的声响，仿佛在诉说着它漫长的历史。周围的天空如同一个巨大的调色盘，不断地变换着色彩。一开始，天空变成了深邃的绿色，仿佛是一片神秘的森林。紧接着，豆大的雨点从天空中倾泻而下，打在船板上，溅起一朵朵晶莹的水花。
渐渐地，天空又变成了明亮的蓝色，如同一块巨大的蓝宝石，镶嵌在浩瀚的宇宙中。远处的地平线上，一抹淡淡的曙光缓缓升起，仿佛是黎明的使者，带来了新的希望。慢慢地，我又飘到了平静的河水上。河水清澈见底，河底的沙石和水草清晰可见。岸边摆放着各种各样的琴弦，在微风的吹拂下，发出悦耳动听的声音，仿佛是大自然奏响的美妙乐章。看着这些美景缓缓地从眼前流过，我的内心仿佛被一股温暖的力量所包围，所有的烦恼和疲惫都烟消云散，有一种被治愈的感觉。
我们顺着天使留下的足迹，用心去感受每一处细节，尽情地享受着这些美好的风景。中途，我看到太阳被一层薄薄的云层所遮挡，仿佛是一位害羞的少女，半遮半掩地露出她美丽的容颜。太阳带着这层云缓缓地飘走，留下了一片绚丽多彩的晚霞，景色十分唯美，让人陶醉其中，久久无法忘怀。

非常美丽的一场艺术盛宴，去感受，去沉浸在这美丽的虚拟世界中，静静聆听声音，缓缓地等待画面的变化，有种超凡脱俗的感觉。

Eine tolle Experience die Bilder und Kompositionen von dem Multi Talent Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis in Animation und Ton sehr gut vereinigt hat. Der Nachsatz “Wo Kunst auf virtuelle Realität trifft!” stimmt zu 100% Erst durch dieses Werk habe ich mich mit Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis beschäftigt. Meiner Meinung nach ist es ein tolles Werk was auch für den Unwissenden die Werke zugänglich macht, ohne das man überfordert wird.
